I never planned on becoming a Photographer. I’m originally from Berkeley Springs, WV (attended Berkeley Springs High School) then went to Shepherd University. After graduation, I moved to Martinsburg, WV. I was a UI/UX Designer (Graphic Design combined with Web Design & Development) when I started having major health issues. I began working on marketing for my Father, a General Contractor, and I needed to take some photos of his work. I spent a lot of time in bed during this period, and I began learning and researching photography. I had retouched and manipulated photos for roughly fifteen years, but I had never actually captured the images.
I started learning photography and borrowed my Mother’s Canon Rebel XTi DSLR in early 2016. I started by learning Real Estate Photography and then started photographing animals. After I had documented every pet and animal on my parent’s farm, I began photographing people. Birthday Parties, Baby Showers, and Concerts led to Engagements and Weddings.
When I’m not shooting, I enjoy spending time with my Wife, Trae Yates, and my niece Anyiah (Michael Roach Photography’s Top-Model). I also have a semi-active YouTube Channel where I make Welding & Fabrication videos.
